The updated restrictions on worship services as issued by the BC Government are as follows, as of December 1st, 2021.
If all participants are vaccinated as determined by the worship service leader, there are no capacity restrictions on worship services and choirs. If participants are not all vaccinated, worship services and choirs are limited to 50% seated capacity. Masks are required but can be temporarily removed for ceremonial eating and drinking, and by officiants, readers or for singing a solo where physical distancing is observed.
What does this mean for St. Andrew’s? For weekly worship, not a whole lot. Our building capacity is 800, and at current attendance levels, we can easily accompany anyone who wants to come to Mass. We are not having separate services for those in differing vaccination groups. No contract tracing or registration is required at this time.
As the pandemic continues to evolve, we must remain vigilant and flexible to ensure continued safe worship for all.

Do I have to wear a mask?
The B.C. government has announced that effective August 25th, face coverings must be worn in all indoor public spaces throughout BC to help slow the transmission of COVID-19. In accordance with the most recent Public Health Order, we will now require face coverings for all people born in 2016 or earlier (ages 5 and up) for all activities in church buildings in the Diocese of Victoria, including worship services.
Do I have to socially distance?
Physical distancing is no longer necessary, but strongly encouraged as we continue to fight COVID-19. Let's be respectful to one another if we're not completely comfortable with close physical contact.
